When I was dating my husband to be in the late 50's, I wore a perfume called
"Midnight". There probably isn't anyone on the forum old enough to remember
that perfume. My fiance' really like it!!

I have mentioned we married 50 yrs. ago this past July 09. A week ago we drove
to Dillard's a few miles from where we live and had lunch. Then he wanted to buy
me a bottle of Cashmere Mist by Donna Karin for an early Christmas gift since I am
out of my favorite perfume. They didn't have the larger size bottle so we decided
to wait and go to the mall later where we usually can get it. But while we were
there, I asked the lady about some new fragrances. She told me she would give
me a sample of something that was popular now. It was a small spray sample call-
ed Juicy Couture. I thought it sounded like something teenagers would probably like.
But I found it delightful. A very nice fragrance so now I am debating getting it instead
of the Cashmere Mist for a change. It is pronounced Juicy Ca'ture. I also found they
have a fragrance called VIVA La Juicy. To me it sounds like something that the younger
generation would like. Who knows though! I found out this recently turned 70 yr. old
likes a change called Juicy Couture!! LOL!!

Speaking of Estee Lauder. When I was young I wore Estee Lauder Youth Dew. Anyone
remember Estee Lauder Youth Dew! I can still smell the memory of that one!

Hugs,

Falla39

I used to wear Oscar, by Oscar de la Renta. I also wore Rapture by Victoria Secret a few years. Lately, I found two new ones that I really like. Burberry by Burberry, and also Deep Red by Hugo. The Burberry is more of a daytime fragrance, the Deep Red more of a nighttime.

I also remember Taboo too. My mom used to wear that all the time when I was growing up.

My most favorite of all is called Beautiful by Estee Lauder. My honey got me some for an anniversary gift last week.

I've recently found a new scent I really like called Design by Paul Sebastion. It's wonderful too.
Isn't perfume considered part of "make-up" ??

I was at a christian bookstore yesterday and I noticed a wonderful scent around the help counter. Two women were working there. One came to assist me and I knew she was the one who smelled so nice. Of course I asked her what the name of her perfume was. She sorta laughed and said..."You know I get the most compliments from this and it's some of the cheapest perfume you'll buy!" She said she bought it at walmart.....Vanilla Fantasy! I'll be buyin a bottle!

I do, my granny wore it!

I wear Pleasures by Estee Lauder. That and CK1 by Calvin Klein always get me the most compliments. Not that I'm fishing for them, but I figure "give the people what they want!" LOL

Seriously tho' -- complete strangers will stop me and comment on them. A few years ago, between bottles, I bought a couple of other things that "I" liked.

Nothing, zip, zilch, NADA.....nobody said a WORD!!!!

Oh well, I enjoyed them, then I went back to Pleasures. Keeps it simple and easy for the fam at gift giving time. And its become my signature.

I've actually been at church and had someone find me by following my cologne...."Oh, I think she went down this hall....Yep! There she is!"

Another time, I slipped into my pew, two rows behind where my pastor's wife was parking her purse. The sister in between us, closed her eyes and inhaled slowly and deliberately saying, "I smell Sister Hargrove!"

The look on the pastor's wife was priceless!!! We were still new to town and I think she worried I might be offended. I just LOL and said, "I get that all the time!"

Another story -- this one on the CK1 -- which is a unisex cologne. I was standing in line at the Customer Service desk in the supermarket. A young man behind me leaned over and asked what cologne I was wearing. I told him "CK1"...he half lifted his arms and sniffed himself, to the left, then the right and said, "Me, too! But I don't smell like YOU do!"

It was that moment I realized it was the teenager who lived next door to me. LOL

Yes, I've always heard that it has. I wonder if any of the GNC ladies have ever tried it in a pinch?
